I like to spend my time in nature and visit various parts of the state of Western Australia. Yesterday we were down in the Margaret River tasting a few samples from the local wineries and South Western Region Providores.
While we were there we visited the John Streater Fine Furniture Gallery.
John is a Master Craftsman of Bespoke Furniture. His career started in 1982 in Yallingup, Western Australia, where he spent 6 years working for a local furniture maker establishing the skills that have developed over the following 28 years as a specialist design maker. In 1988 he built my own workshop and gallery on a property on Blythe Rd in Yallingup, where he still resides and works today.
John has a number of my Glass Work on display with his fine furniture, three of which I am showcasing for you today.
Firstly I have my unique Wall Hanging Glass Art Sculpture inspired by my Award Winning piece "Blown Away".
Lounging Lizard is inspired from when I was caring for reptiles. I learned two methods that lizards would use to warm their bodies. Interestingly, none of the lizards used both methods, but only one.
Dreaming comes from my family experiences. My son has experienced night terrors from when he was born. This has me wondering what his sub-conscious remembers from past lives, and how illusive to the conscious mind they really are?
