The artist herself

Portraits by Rob Scriven

School was never my thing, I found I learnt better by doing. My favourite subject was art where I was allowed the freedom to express myself and be creative in my own way.

Whilst at school I was introduced to copper foiling and playing around with glass was a natural progression. Through those early years I learnt other techniques and developed the skills to be creative and express nature through glass.

I have never stopped playing, experimenting and developing my glass artistry skill while I worked and became a mother. My work was also my passion as I was a Zoo keeper at the Australian Reptile Park in NSW.

When my sons were born, I wanted to have something that immortalised their arrival for eternity. As I had a deeply personal connection to glass, its properties of warming up when held and allowing light to pass through I found it was the perfect medium to capture my son’s unique shape and prints so I remained connected to them as newborns in a truely natural way. My boys baby blocks give me a deeply emotional experience that I could keep for myself for eternity. I have been privileged to give other new mothers this very special and unique connection to their babies.

Glass by Gina’s Studio - My Creative Wonderland

My working glass studio is nestled in Perth Hills where I am immersed in natures energy and gorgeous canvas.

It is a dedicated creative space that houses my materials, tools and on the go glass projects.

I have three hard working kilns that allow me to heat and transform my ideas into reality.

If you have a particular project in mind, we can make a time to meet at my studio. I would love to show you around my magical space. Here we can get inspired and bring your project to life.
